POSITION VACANT - FARM MAINTENANCE
We are seeking an experienced Farm Maintenance person to join our Thoroughbred breeding and racing operation.
This role is integral to the presentation, functionality, and smooth operation of the property and will suit someone with strong practical skills, machinery experience, and a proactive approach to farm maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Fencing maintenance and repairs
Ongoing vehicle, machinery and equipment maintenance
Operation of excavator and skid steer for earthworks, drainage, fencing and general property maintenance
Spraying and weed control in accordance with farm programs and safety standards
Seeding, pasture management, planting and general farm work
Operating tractor and other farm machinery
Towing horse floats and trailers as required
Maintenance of sheds, yards, water systems and general farm infrastructure
Working closely with farm management to maintain high property standards
Essential Requirements
Current manual driver’s licence
Proven experience driving tractors
Demonstrated experience operating an excavator and skid steer
Confident and capable towing a float
Strong practical maintenance and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
Sound understanding of safety, livestock awareness and biosecurity practices
Desirable (but not essential)
Previous experience on a Thoroughbred or equine farm
Chemical handling or spraying accreditation
Mechanical or trade related background
